Born and raised in Richmond, VA, Brandon Penn began his dance training at the Pine Camp Cultural Arts Center. There he studied with Annette Holt, Rodney Williams, Willie Hinton and Talita Jackson learning a broad range of dance styles. He later enrolled into the School of Richmond Ballet where he was given the opportunity to study under Igor Antanov, Malcolm Burn, Judy Jacob and many more.
After spending three years at the Richmond Ballet School, Mr. Penn was accepted into the trainee program at Richmond Ballet his senior year of high school at Appomattox Regional Governor’s School. After graduating and completing a year as a trainee, Brandon spent one year at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Purchase College Conservatory for Dance. There he studied under Larry Clark, Taryn Russell and Ted Kivitt and many others while broadening his exposure and heightening his reputation and networking within dance. After spending a year at SUNY, Brandon was offered a position with Atlanta Ballet II.
After spending two years with Atlanta Ballet, Brandon was offered a position with the Columbia City Ballet which is where he is currently spending his first season. Brandon would like to immensely thank his family for all of their love, support and words of wisdom for reminding him to keep his head up and helping him push forward.
