Reinaldo Vergara Soto, a Cuban native, started studying ballet in 2003 at the Vocational Art School in Matanzas. At age 15, he was accepted in to the National Ballet School of Cuba where he graduated from in 2010. After graduation, Reinaldo joined ProDanza under the direction of Laura Alonso. While dancing with Prodanza Reinaldo performed Dracula, The Nutcracker, Le Corsaire, La Sylphides, Paquita, Swan Lake, Yarini, Don Quixote, Diana and Acteon Pas de Deux, La Bayadare Pas de Deux, La Tarantella Pas de Deux, Blue Bird Pas de Deux, and Flames of Paris Pas de Deux. Mr. Vergara Soto also toured with the company to France in 2012 and 2014, and to Mexico in 2014. He came to the United States in 2014 and began performing in productions with the Florida Classical Ballet, under the direction of Magaly Suarez. In January of 2015, Reinaldo performed in the Stars of Today Meet Stars of Tomorrow Gala at the YAGP Tampa regional. Later that year he performed in the International Stars of Today Gala alongside principals from American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet, Boston Ballet, New York City Ballet, and more. This is Reinaldo’s second season with the Columbia City ballet and his first as a soloist.
