Columbia City Ballet is committed to the health and safety of our audience, dancers,
and staff at our performances. Based on the rapidly changing public health
situation regarding COVID-19, the Executive Director of Columbia City
Ballet has determined that it is in the best interest of the community to
cancel all of our productions immediately. Performances of Cinderella
our Educational Outreach Series production of Beauty & the Beast is
canceled. The Cinderella Tea has also been canceled.
We are deeply appreciative of your patronage and we hope that you will recognize
that this decision is based upon our moral obligation to make the health and
safety of everyone involved in our productions our chief priority. We also ask
that you consider donating any tickets purchased to Columbia City Ballet in
order to aid us in mitigating the financial losses created by the cancellation
of our Performance Season.
Other questions may be directed to the Columbia City Ballet office at 803-799-7605,
during our normal hours of operation, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Please note that we will be operating with a reduced staff and we ask for your
patience in allowing us adequate time to respond.
One of our best-loved fairytales returns to the stage in Columbia City Ballet’s production of Cinderella, with live music by the SC Philharmonic under the direction of Morikiko Nakahara. With a beautiful musical composition composed by Sergei Prokofiev, Cinderella is notable not only for its jubilant music but must also for its lush scenery and the comic roles of the stepsisters performed en travesty (literally “disguised” in French). The entire family will want to see this story of love, jealousy, and fine footwear!
