Marketing Director

Columbia City Ballet, located at 1545 Main Street, in Columbia, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit performing arts organization presenting productions throughout South Carolina and the United States. Founded in 1961, Columbia City Ballet is presently celebrating its 60th Anniversary year of continuous performance seasons. A fully professional ballet company, Columbia City Ballet presents four to five main stage full-length ballets each performance season and two productions from our acclaimed Educational Outreach Program, along with maintaining an extensive touring calendar.

The Marketing Director has the responsibility of media and advertising purchases and trade negotiations, in addition to advertising production including designing ads for print, digital and static billboards, posters and other marketing pieces. This position also coordinates special events and fundraising activities such as the annual gala as well as producing printed material such as brochures, dancebills, and other publications related to the organization. This is a full-time, salaried position.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Previous marketing and graphic design experience preferred
  • Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in graphic design, using software packages including InDesign, Canva, etc.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and other common office software
  • Basic accounting skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work collaboratively with community partners, the Board of Directors and staff

Tour Production & Dancer Supervisor

Columbia City Ballet, located at 1545 Main Street, in Columbia, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit performing arts organization presenting productions throughout South Carolina and the United States. A fully professional ballet company, Columbia City Ballet presents four to five main stage full-length ballets each performance season and two productions from our acclaimed Educational Outreach Program, along with maintaining an extensive touring calendar.

The Tour Production & Dancer Supervisor has the responsibility for the day-to-day operational functions and supervision of CCB’s Company of professional dancers. Duties include:

  • Publishing and maintaining rehearsal schedules
  • Making travel and meal arrangements for tours
  • Managing the backstage area at all performances
  • Being present any time the Company or an ensemble of the Company perform in any venue or context
  • Assisting the Executive and Artistic Director in maintaining the master performance calendar
  • Acting as the liaison between the Company and the Executive and Artistic Director
  • Working closely with the Ballet Mistress and Company Instructors
  • Coordination of dancer auditions and children’s auditions for child-appropriate roles in selected productions
  • Coordinating rehearsals, supervision and safety of children appearing as “guests” in all Columbia City Ballet productions
  • Issuing contracts for guest artists, venues, a fee for service for clients in collaboration with the Executive and Artistic Director and Finance Director

Experience/Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred

Membership Director & Educational Outreach Coordinator

A fully professional ballet company, Columbia City Ballet presents four to five main stage full-length ballets each performance season and two productions from our acclaimed Educational Outreach Program, along with maintaining an extensive touring calendar.

The Membership Director & Educational Outreach Coordinator has the responsibility for servicing our Season Members by selling membership packages and fulfilling ticket concierge services including pulling tickets, mailing tickets, making ticket exchanges, etc.

In addition, this position operates a “VIP Will Call Station” at the Koger Center for the Arts for each performance and at selected other venues as required. The Membership Director also initiates and maintains online ticketing services required for designated venues. This position communicates directly with the membership regarding special events and other member benefits.

The Educational Outreach Coordinator duties include direct mail campaigns to promote the Educational Outreach Program, registration of participants and collection of associated fees. This position is required to be physically present at all Educational Outreach Program productions in every venue.

We Are Seeking Professional Company Ballet Dancers

We are currently seeking dancers for all positions in the ballet company (principals, soloists, corps members) for our 2021-2022 ballet season. Our season begins October 1, 2021 and runs 25–28 weeks, concluding on April 17, 2022. We are actively pursuing male dancers that are 5’11” or taller and female dancers between 5’1 and 5’6. The company repertoire is classically focused, therefore all-female artists must have strong pointe work. All dancers must be a citizen of the United States or already have a working visa to audition.

What We Offer

In addition to salary, dancers will have the opportunity to dance in 4 to 5 major productions per season ranging from classical to contemporary repertoire. Columbia City Ballet is also a touring company, with all productions touring to various cities in the southeast. Additional benefits are:
