South Carolina's Largest Performing Arts Organization Celebrates 60 Years!

Anna Porter

Anna, a native of Lynchburg, Virginia, began dancing at the age of eight. She studied at the Virginia School of the Arts under the tutelage of Petrus Bosman of the Royal Ballet. She continued to attend the Washington Ballet School on scholarship by Rebecca Wright.

In 2005, she was recognized as Top 12 for Contemporary Solos at the New York Youth America Grand Prix Finals. Her post-graduate training continued with the Miami City Ballet and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre where she performed in the company productions of Nutcracker, Cinderella and Balanchine’s Serenade.

She is now in her seventh season with Columbia City Ballet where, as a Soloist, she performed “The Purple Maiden” in Dracula:  Ballet with a Bite, “Snow Queen” and “Arabian Princess” in Nutcracker, “Blue Moon” in Off the Wall and Onto the Stage:  Dancing the Art of Jonathan Green and “Lilac Fairy” in The Sleeping Beauty, among many others.
