Jessica Leigh, of Marlborough, Massachusetts, joined Columbia City Ballet in 2017. She began her training at her mom’s school at the age of three. There, she studied many styles of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and hip-hop.
After deciding to pursue ballet professionally, Jessica went on to train with the Boston Ballet School and the summer programs of Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Boston Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Oklahoma City Ballet on scholarship. During her senior year of high school, she was invited to train with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s pre-professional division, spending one year in their full-time, high school program and the following two years in their graduate program. During her time in Pittsburgh, she had many opportunities to perform with the main company. One of her favorite roles was performing as “Spanish” in Terrence Orr’s The Nutcracker.
Before joining Columbia City Ballet, Jessica danced with Louisville Ballet for two seasons as a Trainee performing in Western Symphony, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and Nutcracker to name a few. With Columbia City Ballet, Jessica has performed in Dracula: Ballet with a Bite, Nutcracker, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Off the Wall and Onto the Stage: Dancing the Art of Jonathan Green.
