Jordan Hawkins

Jordan Hawkins, born and raised in Irmo, SC, began her dance training at the age of three at the Columbia Conservatory of Dance under the direction of Mariclare Miranda and William Starrett. After spending summer semesters at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, she competed as a Senior Member of the CC Dance Company and was awarded the title of Senior Miss Superstar and Senior Miss Dance. Jordan also won scholarships to Adrenaline Dance Conventions and summer sessions at Steps on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center and with the Radio City Rockettes.

Guesting at the beginning of her professional career with South Carolina Contemporary Company for three summers gave her the opportunity to perform multiple roles in Martha Graham’s Maple Leaf Rag as well as a number of Miriam Barbosa originals. Now entering her twelfth season with the Columbia City Ballet as a Demi-Soloist, she’s had the opportunity to continue to grow as a dancer in her hometown and perform many roles including the company’s original “Rat Queen” in Nutcracker along with “Candy Cane” and “Neapolitan” divertissements. Her favorite roles include “Puss in Boots” from The Sleeping Beauty and the “Evil Stepmother” from Cinderella.

Finding an additional passion for teaching and choreographing, she has had the pleasure of teaching where she trained as an Assistant Director of Columbia City Ballet II and being the Ballet Mistress for the Rising Stars of Sumter.
