South Carolina Ballet’s 2027 performances at the Koger Center offer two very different ways to experience dance. Sleeping Beauty arrives on February 20, followed by Off the Wall & Onto the Stage: Dancing the Art of Jonathan Green on March 12.

For those who first knew us as Columbia City Ballet, these performances continue the company’s longstanding relationship with Columbia audiences under our current name, South Carolina Ballet.

Sleeping Beauty: February 20, 2027

Set to Tchaikovsky’s score, Sleeping Beauty showcases the precision, elegance, and expressive possibilities of classical ballet. Its place in our company’s history stretches back to 1966, when it was first staged by Columbia City Ballet. William Starrett reimagined the production in 1996.

The February return gives audiences a choice of 3:00 p.m. or 7:30 p.m., whether you prefer an afternoon at the theatre or an evening out.

Off the Wall & Onto the Stage: March 12, 2027

For one evening, the Koger Center stage becomes a setting for the people, colors, and stories of Jonathan Green’s art.

Created through a collaboration between Green and William Starrett, Off the Wall & Onto the Stage: Dancing the Art of Jonathan Green draws from 22 Gullah-inspired paintings. Dance, costumes, scenery, and music translate the paintings into scenes exploring family, faith, hope, and love.

The production offers particular appeal to audiences interested in visual art and South Carolina’s cultural heritage, alongside those who already follow the company’s work.

The performance takes place on Friday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m.
